Eligibility
The call for submissions is open to all individuals, teams and firms with the following exceptions and qualifications:

Work submitted for consideration cannot have been published previously. Work self-published in a portfolio of work or individual website is acceptable. Work published in periodicals, books or journals (with the exception of university anthologies or year-end compendia) is not eligible. One entry per registration will be accepted. The deadline for entries is 5 June 2006 at 11:59pm, EST.

At least one member of a team must be a student or recent graduate (since 1995) in a college or university design degree program. A design degree is intended to include architecture and related disciplines. For the purposes of this competition, a BFA or a PhD in art or architectural history is understood to be a related discipline.

Registration
Registration is free. Entrants can only register and submit entries on-line (at www.1000postcards.org).

Submission Requirements
Submissions should provide the curators with a clear understanding of the author's design concept. All entrants are required to submit their project as a 1800 x 1275 pixel jpeg in CMYK format. This is equivalent to a 6" x 4.25" (15.24 x 10.8cm) image at 300dpi. Please orient the 6" side horizontally. The outer 1/8th inch of the image will treated as bleed area, and will be removed during printing. The image must be a single image without frames. The sponsors will review all entries for compliance with the submission requirements and will determine whether images may be presented to the curators. The curators will not review any material that does not fit the submission requirements.

Every entry regardless of concept or strategy must by accompanied by the following requirements:

--A title of not more than seven (7) words
--A brief description of the project intent of not more than fifty (50) words

The title and statement do not necessarily have to be included on the postcard image.
